The City of Oshkosh, Wisconsin is searching for a part-time Court Liaison Clerk at the Oshkosh Police Department. This is non-sworn position within the Administrative Services Bureau and is directly supervised by the Records Supervisor. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with hours of either 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., for a total of 25 hours per week (no weekends or holidays). The Court Liaison Clerk is responsible for the organization and coordination of processing reports on all adult persons arrested by or for the Oshkosh Police Department. Duties may include: • Processing court documents and entering court dispositions into software programs; • Reviewing arrest reports and accompanying documents for accuracy and forwarding to the proper authority; • Preparing reports for appropriate prosecuting attorneys and Court Commissioners; • Preparing and sending correspondence to defendants related to their cases; • Acting as department liaison between various City departments, courts, and other county and law enforcement agencies regarding case follow-up, summonses, and subpoenas. Compensation ranges from $22.04 - $25.19 per hour. Requirements • Thorough knowledge of Federal Laws, State Statutes and City Ordinances, as well as department policies, rules, regulations and procedures. • Ability to acquire knowledge of the Criminal Justice system, including the City Attorney’s and District Attorney's policies and procedures relating to criminal arrests and prosecution. • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential public and departmental information. • Ability to work without direct supervision and to make recommendations based on sound independent judgment. • Fluency in the English language for both verbal and written communication. • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. • Knowledge of modern office principles and practices, modern computer and software applications, and equipment commonly used in an office setting. • Ability to accurately enter and retrieve data in computer programs. • Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships. Qualifications • High School graduate or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Business, Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred. • At least one (1) year of court or legal-related experience; at least one (1) year of clerical experience is preferred. • At least 18 years of age.
