PA/NP Critical Care Medicine
Seeking Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established group of providers working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to treat critically ill patients. The PA/NP works under the supervision of a physician in an ICU to diagnose and treat life threatening conditions in a fast-paced high acuity unit. Must have good communication skills, work well with others, be self-motivated, and be able to think critically in high stress environment. Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Admission history and physical, inpatient consultation, daily progress notes.
- Procedures: Central line, arterial line, PA catheter, transvenous pacemaker, and chest tube placement.
- Lead inpatient code team.
- NYS licensed PA or NP (acute care preferred). DEA Eligible.
- Prior experience in critical care preferred.
- Acute care experience required.
- New grads will be considered.
Work Environment and Hazards:
- Clinical setting - Exposure Class I
- Outpatient
- Physical Demands:
- Medium work/light work: must be able to lift 25 pounds occasionally. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.
