GelSight continues to hit new milestones with the recent launch our GelSight Max putting a "lab in the palm of your hand". In support of this growth, we are looking to add a sales engineer to our team as we grow our revenue and penetrate new accounts.GelSight seeks a Junior Production Engineer to support low-volume, high-mix production which requires a high level of skill and attention to detail. Initial focus of work will be to learn and perform tasks associated with completing gel production processes for internal and customer demand. With knowledge and experience of the process, the candidate will drive and support daily production and improvements projects related to yield, cycle time, and capacity. The ideal candidate is quality-driven, attentive, and eager to learn, master, and improve assigned processes and materials. The position requires on-site presence working in a laboratory/production setting and reports to the Gel Manufacturing & Engineering Manager. Responsibilities:Completing manufacturing processes to ensure timely completion of gel productionPreparing materials/chemicals, areas, tooling, and equipment for production and engineering needsPerforming Quality Control inspection, test, release, quarantine, documentation, packaging, etc.Creating/drafting documented work instructions and training of less experienced team membersPerforming tasks to troubleshooting production process & equipment issuesPerforming various tasks to assist with development and improvement projectsAssisting with the qualification of new processes, products, and/or materialsCompiling reports for various production and development projectsMaintaining inventory levels of various consumables productsRegular cleaning and organization of production and laboratory areasAssembling/disassembling, cleaning, and maintaining equipmentStoring, retrieving, weighing, mixing, and coating chemicalsRecording and entering information into a databaseAssisting other teams and team members, as requiredQualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering requiredExperience in low-volume/high-mix environments with diverse processes & materials preferred (recent college graduates with internship and/or co-op experience highly encouraged)Experience with work that requires excellent hand dexterityExperience with work requiring a high level of quality and attention to detailAbility to follow both verbal and written instructionsProficiency with Microsoft Office including data entryStrong verbal and written communication skillsDesire & ability to strictly comply with safety & quality regulations, including PPE requirementsGelSight is committed to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to a person's race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, or any characteristic protected under applicable law.
