Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWiTricity is seeking an experienced Design Quality Engineer at our Watertown, MA headquarters to join our Global Engineering and Quality team. This role will work closely with our global product development and manufacturing teams to ensure and improve the quality and reliability of WiTricity’s products and product development process, drive risk mitigation of product failure, and functional safety and cybersecurity. They will communicate with program and product management teams to meet product and design process requirements.
 Responsibilities:
  • Interface with cross-functional product development teams to provide leadership on the understanding and implementation of quality methodologies (PDCA, Kaizen, etc.), tools (APQP, PPAP, etc.), regulatory and environmental compliance, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Plan, review and verify with product development teams on design documentation and deliverables at various product phase-gate milestones.
  • Responsible for quality deliverables required within the product development process to meet the requirements of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, etc.
  • Ensure strict compliance to external customer and internal stakeholder requirements and actively support product development team on product design, verification, validation and transfer into manufacturing.
  • Lead risk management activities (DFMEA, FTA, etc.) with product development teams on product failure, safety, and cybersecurity from product concept, through manufacturing, commercialization and decommissioning/end-of-life.
  • Champion continual improvement initiatives within product development teams to optimize product design, prototype builds, product development process and deliverables.
  • Lead to engage product development teams on the root cause investigation, resolution and prevention of product and process non-conformances.
  • Carry out internal audits on product development process and related QMS processes as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Management, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of working experience in quality assurance for new product introduction and manufacturing, preferably in automotive, power tools or similar industries.
  • A good knowledge of quality planning and management core tools for IATF 16949, product hardware and software engineering.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to details.
  • Excellent communication, cooperation and influencing skills when working with senior leadership internally, and externally with customers and partners.
  • Experience in working in an international multi-time zones environment.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally such as East and Southeast Asia.
  • Certified Quality Engineer/Inspector/Auditor by ASQ is a plus.
