Position: Associate Controller
Location: Hybrid – Los Angeles, CA
Position Summary & Responsibilities
Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, certified payroll, fixed-assets, month-end and year-end closes
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Develop and maintain internal accounting/financial controls
Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement
Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to develop project budgets, monitor project costs, and track profitability
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax CPA, booking keeping services and financial institutions
Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis and support to senior management
Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial management and accounting
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques
You will be expected to perform the functions/responsibilities yourself with limited support.
Must be hands-on.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities with ease
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff
Preferred Education, Certification & Experience
MBA
CPA – Certified Public Accountant
CMA – Certified Management Accountant
Service company and project accounting experience preferred
Managing a team and working across cross-functional team experience preferred
