**Server Intern**

Palo Alto / 2022 Internships / Intern We are looking for generalist Computer Science majors, or similar, who are interested in learning Erlang. Existing Erlang experience a plus, but not required. Expect an interview covering general CS topics, but nothing Erlang specific.

We are a small team of really focused people in sunny California who care about **real relationships.** We are humans building for humans and dont feel the need to share or sell any data thats private to a user. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work, learn and brainstorm ideas alongside our server engineering team to add features and help shape our social app to fit the needs of our close knit community of friends and family. + Adding additional SMS gateways to improve SMS delivery rates

+ Scoring SMS gateways dynamically to handle reliability changes automatically

+ Investigating secure-enclave computing to protect user data

+ Monitoring infrastructure to make sure all services are still working properly

+ Network analysis of our mobile client login process - optimization around Nagle algorithm

+ Optimizing redis queries to reduce latency

+ Setting up a backup process, and verifying backups are valid
