Business Services Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Business Services Manager is responsible for developing and spearheading all business/commercial services for the credit union, including business lending, business accounts with associated account maintenance, and business development functions.

This position is responsible for addressing business account members' needs and concerns promptly and effectively and for fostering strong relationships. The Business Services Manager reports directly to the Chief Member Experience Officer communicating with other Executive Team Members, management, and staff to ensure the timely and successful delivery of the credit union's solutions and handle member complaints and issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organizes and facilitates the credit union's business/commercial services and accounts functions by providing financial solutions, education, and advice.
• Manages a portfolio of business clients by building relationships and providing financial advice with a focus on the best business service experience and risk management.
• Organizes and facilitates the credit union's business/commercial lending functions, including coordination/communication with our business lending partner.
• Coordinates visits to businesses for presentations on business/commercial services available with assistance/support from the Business Development/Marketing team.
• Opens all types of business accounts, analyzes business member needs, cross-sells, and orders appropriate products and services necessary for businesses completely and accurately.
• Organizes and coordinates growth and penetration tactics for the business/commercial segment of our membership.
• Completes and tracks business visit follow-up summary reports from all onsite visits.
• Proactively resolves issues before they become problems. Uses sound judgment to resolve business member discrepancies.
• Assists with incoming business services calls in a timely and efficient manner.
• Gathers and provides information and verifies facts.
• Coordinates the distribution of all supply requests from our business accounts.
• Represents the credit union at business development events.
• Coordinates and processes paperwork for all new business accounts/loans.
• Reviews and analyzes monthly and quarterly business reports to identify areas for improvement and gathers data from business owners for annual reviews.
• Recommends products and services to promote the business lending portfolio.
• Assists with driving business deposit growth.
• Facilitates Credit Committee and Board notification and approval for business loans requiring approval and/or notification based on Business Loan Policy. This includes documenting and writing committee minutes and memos.
• Tracks and monitors business equipment loan insurance for active policies and works with business members to obtain updated insurance policies.
• Analyzes and complies with government laws and regulations. This includes maintaining knowledge of all regulations and laws and keeping abreast of updates and changes to legislation, industry best practices and regulatory guidelines such as BSA/OFAC/AML/CTR laws, rules, and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; knowledge of basic financial practices or 3 years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from credit union members, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to speak professionally in public settings and act as spokesperson for the credit union. Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to meet deadlines. Must possess organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Must possess skills in written and oral communication. Must deal effectively and professionally with staff and members. Must have reliable transportation as there will be times spent away from the office.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computers and various software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet applications. The individual must have a willingness to learn the credit union's data processing system.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
