Purpose of the Position This position directs all aspects of supply chain/logistics management function to plan, store and distribute products to destination. Executes strategy to optimize logistic network and operations. Overseas critical related inventory, distribution, and transportation functions that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI’s. Establishes processes to monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, this position utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for supply chain strategy and providing leadership and direction on the development and implementation of supply chain transformation initiatives to achieve long-term goals. Lead efforts to improve transportation quality and delivery performance, while ensuring supplier readiness for S&OP volumes. Position accountable for key supply chain performance indicators such as customer service, inventory turns and dollars, material cost, freight cost and period cost, driving excellence throughout distribution centers. Responsible for managing the transportation expense for the business. Includes the development and specification of transportation requirements to reduce costs. Provide leadership to 3rd-party logistics (3PL) providers including truck, ocean, warehouse, and distribution centers to optimize cost structures. Lead supply chain activities including logistics operations, demand and order management, forecasting, material requirements planning, inventory management and order fulfillment. Provide direction, focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports including coaching, developing, and mentoring through performance feedback. Align logistics, purchasing and inventory activities to meet corporate goals. Conform with and abides by all federal and local regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instruction. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required Strong knowledge of logistics processes, systems, and regulations Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Negotiating and budgeting skills Inventory management Strategic thinking Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams Able to work independently and in a team environment Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic culture Computer Equipment and Software Requirements The position requires the ability to work proficiently with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Use of Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access are required. Ability to learn new software in a timely manner. Education and Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (preferred but not required) 7-10+ years of experience in supply chain/logistics (leadership experience preferred) Licensing or other Special Requirements Valid state driver’s license.
