The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the College, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation and benefits. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the Executive Cabinet team and the Board of Trustees. The Office of Human Resources promotes an environment that values and recognizes productivity and achievement and respects the worth and dignity of all individuals. Human Resources serves as a support partner in the teaching and public service missions of the College.

Primary Responsibilities

Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the College’s mission and strategic vision. Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall operations objectives. Function as a strategic advisor to the executive/senior management of each academic division, school or department regarding key organizational and management issues. Work with the College's Executive Cabinet team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the College. Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human resource needs of the College. Manage comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost-effective. Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits. Maintain knowledge of relevant state and federal laws that impact employment and compensation, while ensuring compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEO, Title VII, Title IX, OCR and DOL and AG requirements. Oversee the administration and review of the College’s policies and procedures. Manage department budget. Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required Education BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university

Required Experience 10 years of HR experience with 5 years of experience in HR management/leadership role

Preferred Education MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field

Preferred Experience Experience in a higher education setting
