Data Architect

Summary / Position Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data architectures that support the organization's strategic objectives. As a Data Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data solutions. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of data modeling principles, and proficiency in database technologies.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities: Data Strategy Development:

Develop and implement data strategy to align with overall organizational strategy, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability Data Modeling:

Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support application development and business intelligence needs Database Management:

Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of database management systems. Implement and enforce data security policies to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches Performance Tuning:

Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to enhance overall system efficiency Data Governance:

Establish metadata standards and processes to ensure data lineage, quality, and governance. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architectures, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and technical specifications Emerging Technologies:

Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data management, recommending innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness

Qualifications & Experience

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 2+ years working as a Data Architect or in a similar role, with a strong background in database design and data integration Expertise in .NET development and Microsoft Fabric Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Python and Cognos skills are a plus Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data security best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
