Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition SummaryA company's Safety Coordinator establishes and oversees the health and safety processes for the organization. They take into consideration industry regulations and the specific risks in your workplace to ensure normal work activities are handled safely. They train employees in safety protocols and enforce them if they're not being followed properly. Safety Coordinators also respond when workplace accidents happen, creating reports and determining ways to prevent similar accidents. They work in a variety of settings, including warehouses, manufacturing companies and large office buildings, addressing specific concerns based on the type of business and industry.Major Function and Scope •Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations•Familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in the workplace.•Attention to detail.•Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills•Ability to teach others the established safety standards.•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industry.•Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people.•Always ensure the company is prepared to submit all the relevant health and safety documents. •Encourage and promote the use of safer work equipment, materials, and supplies. •Track the number of incidents and produce reports.•Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals.•Report to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and other relevant organizations.RequirementsKnowledge, Experience, and Competencies Competent/Comfortable with use of information technologyHigh school diploma or equivalent training.Strong proven leadership and management skillsCreative and innovative problem-solving skillsFive (3) + years' experience with safety and environmental regulationsOSHA 10 or 30 CertificationStrong verbal and written communication and presentation skills and strong organization and self-starter skillsProven Work Experience Hours of the Safety Coordinator and Location •Monday to Friday 8pm 6am.•Every other weekend.•Cartersville GA.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSIn the Wellmade organization, all team members must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide range of activities during daily business, including some which may not normally be part of the job description for an equivalent position elsewhere. It is therefore a requirement that the individual filling this position has an aptitude to learn new skills, to think for him/herself, and be able to work in an environment where fixed routines may not be established.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position is largely self-directed and requires an understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.Able to stand and walk up to 10 hours per day.The employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid, and cold temperatures.Salary Description $17.00-$18.00
