Job Description
The Program Manager I is the focal point for the company forcommunications with the customer (internal / external) and is responsible toensure customer requirements are flowed down to all functional departments.
Focal point for customer communication and interface:
•Managescommunications and relationships between Ducommun and its customers.
•Communicationand tracking of customer scorecards and surveys.
•Focal /Leader for the Integrated Product Team (IPT).
•Representsthe company in contacts with the customer and outside parties for all issuesconcerning the program.
•Providetimely notification to management and customer of program cost, quality, orschedule impact.
•Executionof New Product Introduction - Phase Gate Process.
•Provide acoordinated company response to customer requirements (commercial - technical)and inquiries
•Presentationof program reviews to Customer.
Contract Management:
•Analyzeand review all contracts to verify Terms and Conditions, Work Statements,Funding, Performance Periods.
•Preparenegotiation plan and lead the negotiation team for all customer negotiations.
•Manageand track program compliance to purchase order requirements.
•Prepareassertions and claims to customer in accordance to contract parameters.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
•Excellentverbal and written communication skills are required; must be able tocommunicate effectively.
•Experiencein production control, contracts management, project management or contractsmanagement, are key talents.
•Detailoriented, positive friendly customer service are key attributes.
•Computerknowledge and skills, i.e., MS Office Suite - Word, Power Point and Excel isrequired.
•Basicunderstanding of lean and six sigma principles and methodologies.
•Experiencewith MRP systems is beneficial.
•Teamoriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:
•BA/BSdegree; equivalent years of experience may be accepted.
•MBApreferred.
•Certificationin PMP and or CAPM, Contracts Administration, Project Management a plus.
•1-3 plusyears in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
•Program(s)oversight of 10 million a plus.
•Supervisoryexperience a plus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee isoccasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, orfeel, occasionally lift one to ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include abilityto adjust focus to review contract documents, identify parts and clearly seeoperations and identify hazards in the production area. Working Conditions are: 80% office environment, 15%manufacturing environment; 5% outdoors. Noise level is moderate in office environment.
Skills & Qualifications
•Minimum BA/BS degree preferred but not required and/or equivalent years of industry experience.Advanced degree such as MBA preferred.
•Minimum 1-5 years customer service and contract administration background, in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Computer knowledge and skills, i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint required and ERP/MRP Systems preferred.
