SOMFY is the leading global manufacturer of strong, quiet motors with electronic and app controls for interior window coverings and exterior solar protections. During the past 50 years, Somfy engineers have designed products for both the commercial and residential markets to motorize window coverings such as interior shades, wood blinds, draperies, awnings, rolling shutters, exterior solar screens and projection screens. Somfy motorization systems are easily integrated with security, HVAC and lighting systems providing total home or building automation. Somfy Systems seeks a highly-organized professional to plan, organize, direct and manage the overall operations for the Retail Channel Inside Sales Team across North American facilities. This position will act as a liaison between customers, and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions to meet our customers' needs. Job Description
We're looking for an Product Manager to join our Controls Product team to own the building controls portfolio for motorized shades in commercial application like offices, healthcare, education and hospitality. Working with the team, you will be at the intersection of hardware, software, and our customer experience ensuring that our products deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers.
You will work to identify new opportunities and improvements in our current product offering, as well as help shape our next generations of products. You will work closely with global product teams, engineering, sales, marketing and project services to ensure business goals and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.
Define the product roadmap for Building Controls portfolio.
Work proactively with project channel personnel to capture market requirements.
Conducting thorough benchmark of competitive products.
Work with other Somfy Product Managers to align roadmaps where applicable.
Deliver product requirements with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
Ensure needs are communicated to local and international development teams.
Work with Project Manager to ensure local developments are executed on schedule.
Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
Complete product database entries specific to your product range.
Work with Marketing Communications to develop effective launch plans .
Sales enablement - work independently and with internal teams to develop and deliver effective trainings, presentations and product demonstrations.
Perform product demos to customers and act as the subject matter expert in product line reviews with customers.
Streamline your existing product line to be more efficient and effective in meeting the market need and to maximize profit and sales.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, engineering, or computer science
5+ years of proven professional experience in engineering, project management, marketing, sales and/or technical services.
2+ years in Product / Product Marketing an asset
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Interpersonal and strong verbal and written verbal skills to effectively understand and express complex issues and solutions.
Passion and interest in technology and how it can improve people's lives
Additional Information
Typical 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Travel 15%, including international.
