The Role: Exhibits strong technical underwriting skills through strategic, thorough account reviews and file documentation Grows and maintains profitable book of business through execution of individual risk underwriting and adherence to the strategic plan of the unit Stays current on competition, underwriting environment, and market conditions and share that knowledge with colleagues and leadership Develops and executes marketing plan aimed at retaining existing business and producing new opportunities Travels to and completes marketing/sales meetings in assigned territories within the southeast region Exhibits good understanding of pricing components and rating methodology; prices risk based on financial and competitive analysis Prepares or analyzes information on adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status and declinations in order to drive results within the assigned territory Monitors production, profitability and maintains agency relationships Effectively communicates (written/verbal) information to both internal and external customers to ensure our standards of excellence are maintained Ensures underwriting and service standards are met on assigned accounts Reviews profitability of each account on a quarterly basis in a strong, auditable condition The Requirements: Minimum of 3-7 years of experience Proven underwriting track record Strong retail broker relationships Knowledgeable of the financial institutions, real estate, hospitality, construction, professional services, leisure, retail and distribution industries Experience underwriting Property, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and Excess Casualty Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflows efficiently Professional demeanor in language, writing, and presentation skills Experience with Microsoft Office This position will remain posted for a minimum of three business days from the date posted or until sufficient/appropriate candidate slate has been identified.
