Job Purpose/Summary

The State Data & Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing data systems to support organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This position requires mastery of various systems, overseeing data entry, analysis, and reporting for special projects and non-ISS data at the State office including Full Service Community Schools, alumni, Academy, and special initiatives. In addition, the State Data & Systems Analyst contributes to the statewide standardization of data through developing data training materials, conducting case file audits, and ensuring compliance with data management policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

State Data Systems Administration:
  • Strong understanding of all data systems, including but not limited to, CISDM, TrackVia, NetSuite, and Donor Perfect. Monitoring and managing with the inclusion of outside data as needed from Infinite Campus, Program Partner Systems, CIS National Alumni systems and external research partners.
  • Data systems administration of internal systems, including data audits/ reconciliation, input, correction and analysis for all state led programs and projects.
  • Build and optimize state data systems, including CISDM, TrackVia, and other systems as needed.
  • Ensure all relevant parties are trained in new data systems and oversee the training process.
  • Research and secure new data systems and tools as needed.
Special Programs Data Strategy & Reporting:
  • Full Service Community Schools program data strategy and progress reporting.
  • Data reporting, analysis, and presentations for special projects and programs.
  • Pull and audit non ISS program data, including partner data, alumni, and special initiatives.
  • Complete special reports and research as requested.
  • Serve as the data representative for special program interdepartmental meetngs.
  • Statewide Alumni data strategy development and management.
State Data Team Management
  • Develop standardized data training materials aligned to various data competencies.
  • Support with accreditation process, including National EOY Phase Reviews and Case File Audits.
  • Participate in research projects and statewide data standardization initiatives.
Collaboration & Affiliate Data Team Supports:
  • Participate as an active team member of the State Office, through attendance and engagement in meetings, training, professional development, team-building, and other activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively with affiliate management, data management, and state departments, providing data advisory, support, and coaching as needed.
  • Participate in monthly Data Team meetings, monthly Programs, Grants & Data meetings, and weekly check-in meetings with supervisor.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Sr. Data Strategist.
Qualifications and Competencies

Qualifications include:
  • Excellent technological skills, with required experience working with a variety of data systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, and administrative skills.
  • Advanced data reporting & presentation skills.
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent is preferred or a combination of education and experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Hybrid work environment, requiring a combination of office and remote work.
  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally, exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels as found in a business office and classroom setting.
  • Travel required between affiliate and state offices as needed.
  • Use of own automobile.
