Manager, Operations and Logistics

Overview:
The Operations and Logistics Manager works with the Transportation Director and division staff as part of the inter-facility transportation service for the Health Care District. Duties include overseeing day to day operations of the Ground Medical Transportation Division and services provided by the division staff. The Operations and Logistics Manager assists the Transportation Director in supervision of the transport teams to ensure quality care and satisfaction of the patient throughout the inter-facility transport process.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Oversees maintenance and daily operations of the Ground Ambulance Medical Transportation Service; including workflow, work schedules and timecard monitoring to ensure efficient and effective performance.
Coordinates with all field personnel to ensure appropriate delivery of department services.
Ensure the maintenance of all appropriate reports, equipment and department’s vehicles records.
Makes recommendations for the development, formulation, modification and implementation of department policies, standards, regulations and general operating guidelines and procedures associated with improvement of services.
Responsible for the distribution and inventory control of approved drugs, medical supplies and equipment pertaining to ambulance services operations and issues supplies and equipment to crews as needed.
Observes work performance of EMTs and Paramedics, assists with work performance evaluations, monitors compliance with HCD policies/guidelines and recommends personnel actions as needed.
Inspects ambulances and associated equipment for compliance with safety and sanitary policies and schedules vehicles for preventive maintenance.
Ensures all patient care reports and supporting documentation are complete and delivered in a timely manner.
Identifies process improvement opportunities and presents resolutions and recommendations to the Transportation Director.
Communicates regularly with staff, conducts meetings and shares information as needed.
Coaches and provides feedback to staff on a regular basis.
Follows appropriate processes for talent acquisition, staff development and performance management and provides input to the Transportation Director for the final staffing decisions.
Completes incident reports as needed and aids Risk Management and senior leadership regarding investigations and the resolution of complaints. Performs Paramedic duties as needed.
Maintain all licensure requirements. Act in a manner that protects the integrity of the mission of the Health Care District.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes assisting community or hospital based organizations or the Red Cross. Staff will be directed to perform other emergency duties based on clinical experience including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field required.
Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years related experience in emergency transport and emergency medical services. One (1) of supervising experience preferred.
Certification:
EMT-P certification, EVOC Ambulance course certification required
Licensure:
Current, valid State of Florida Driver’s License required
Current, State of Florida Paramedic License required
Current, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic Certification preferred or obtained within 2 years of hire date.
Training:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
National Specialty Board Certification: Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) within two (2) years of recruitment.
