Versar Global Solutions is seeking a QC Specialist in Belle Glade, FL, to join our team

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 signs and guardrail inspections and single and multi-post reflectivity and attenuator inspections.
  • Perform routine inspections on an assigned percentage of completed work orders as dictated by AM contract stipulations to verify compliance with standards.
  • Perform monthly field Maintenance Rating Program (MRP) inspection, as directed by FDOT random sampling, and compile results for project review and action.
  • Perform Quality Control Inspections on structure repairs from Feasible Action Review Committee (FARC) issued work orders and review processes and documents to ensure compliance with required procedures for timely close out.
  • Perform monthly inspections of five (5) bridges within the system.
  • Update the Sound Plan annually, present recommendations, and follow up with recommendations to ensure it is completed.
  • Maintain current and accurate records to comply with the District Quality Assurance Review stipulations and requirements and assist the Project Manager with documentation and compilations for inspection by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
  • Review and inspect documentation required for customer service, incident response, herbicide application, scheduled asset inspection reports, monthly work reports, and any requested documents or reports before submittal to FDOT.
  • Compile documentation and reports for Quality Assurance Manager’s review and approval. Maintain project database with current information required to produce accurate reports to the client.
  • Support, as needed, the implementation of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) safety controls by setup and removal of traffic control devices, including, but not limited to, cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc.
  • Clear roadside debris, including, but not limited to, small dead animals and debris on or off the road.
  • Advise the Project Manager of changing policies and conflicts with standards on current or planned work.
  • Track QC work order status and complete timesheet.
  • Coordinate, process, administer, and inspect permits on roadways under Belle Glade Corridor a Asset Maintenance Area in FDOT District 4
  • Document field inspections inputting inspection results into the Departments FDOT OneStop Permitting system and internal company system database daily.
  • Track all permits and regularly report permit status to the Project Manager and or the client.
  • Coordinate and attend all post-approval meetings and inspections. Obtain all project certifications and final (as-built) plans in accordance with department procedure/ FAC requirements. Electronically upload all plans into the DOT database
  • Interact with permittee and the client in office and field environments as a company representative in providing information to FDOT
  • Field inspect all construction activities resulting from approved permits on the roadways, structures, and facilities covered by this contract, during and after the construction to ensure conformance with regulations and specifications
  • Understand and abide by ethical behavior and integrity standards as detailed in the Code of Business Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be computer literate in all Microsoft programs required for reporting on spreadsheets and graphs as needed.
  • Ability to travel to the project area to perform position duties.
  • Ability to work at night performing inspections of reflectivity and lighting assets.
  • Ability to participate in client meetings as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager or requested by the Project Manager.
  • Ability to advise project personnel on quality and client recommendations to improve performance.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain a current library of FDOT and all related agency policies and procedures required to perform work at contract standards.
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of safety equipment (i.e., shoes, hard hats, goggles, etc.), equipment operation, and materials handling.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, day or night, regularly and in emergencies.
  • Ability to drive vehicles safely and conscientiously.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, stoop, twist, and perform duties using appropriate tools and equipment within safety standards.
  • Ability to walk over uneven ground.
  • Ability to accurately perform mathematic calculations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions/instructions.
  • Displays high standards of ethical conduct. Refrains from dishonest behavior.
  • Displays a high level of initiative, effort, attention to detail, and commitment by completing assignments efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Follows policy, cooperates with supervisors, and aligns behavior with the organization's goals.
  • Within 60 days of project startup and throughout employment, maintain an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification (provided by the company).
  • Within 60 days of project startup and throughout employment, acquire and maintain the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certifications for series 100, 200, and 700 Classifications.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED; and at least five (7) years of quality control, construction inspection, roadway maintenance, roadway construction, or public works.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting seven years of work experience, construction technology/management, or engineering would be acceptable.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record upon hire.
  • An ideal candidate would have one or more years of higher education and FDOT or other DOT certifications and knowledge of all DOT requirements for a commercial driver’s license.
