Mechanical Engineer Location: Wilmington, NC Pay: $44.75/hr Duration: 1 year+ Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday Travel: Potential travel to Midland, Winston Salem, and Hickory. Position Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with experience in hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and project management of production equipment. The role involves supervising technicians, managing documentation, and ensuring efficient equipment operation. Key Responsibilities: Perform hands-on support for new/modified production equipment. Supervise contract engineers, maintenance staff, and external contractors during installation and conversion processes. Troubleshoot and start up mechanical and electrical systems. Create and update documentation for production equipment. Evaluate existing equipment for compatibility with new installations. Develop installation checklists and schedules. Procure and expedite materials for equipment. Recommend and liaise with vendors. Redesign mechanical components to reduce costs and solve issues. Prepare work orders and direct fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation. Provide training on new equipment installation procedures. Analyze and improve installation practices to enhance efficiency. Required Qualifications: Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in hands-on mechanical and electrical system installation and project management. Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well in teams. Strong organizational and communication skills. Self-motivated and results-oriented. Practical mechanical aptitude and understanding of process variables (flow, temperature, pressure). Software Experience: AutoCAD 2023 Inventor 2023 MS Project MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Comments: Good organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to learn new applications quickly. Attention to detail.
