DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a professional social service position in a county children and youth agency which is responsible for the fiscal operations of the organization. Within this role, you will be developing and managing budgets, revenues, and expenditures as well as maintaining financial ledgers and journals. You will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, developing and implementing cost allocation plans, and preparing fiscal forecasts for the Children and Youth Administrator and County Board of Commissioners. The County Fiscal Officer 1 also provides supervision and evaluation for the staff in the fiscal and clerical units within the agency. We are looking for someone who exhibits excellent communication skills and is able to efficiently manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Fiscal Technician and six college credits in accounting;or
  • One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting;or
  • Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting;or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
