  1. Develop and implement an engineering strategy that appropriately adopts technological advances in takeoffs, design, document control, engineering calculations, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Participate in a team of high-caliber engineers and modelers within a culture of quality and safety to meet internal and external customer needs.
  3. Direct and perform design analysis and calculation for engineering proposals and process requirements relevant to industry standard guidelines and local, state, and federal regulations.
  4. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of AASTHO, ASTM, ACI, DOT, ADA, and other specifications to guarantee all precast concrete products/buildings meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  5. Develop and maintain appropriate project-tracking metrics to evaluate department effectiveness and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
  6. Implement training and professional development processes to expand department capabilities and individual growth.
  7. Support the estimating and sales team with cost, time estimates, and project constraints.
  8. Devise and maintain engineering system controls and Standard Operation Procedures for drawings and documentation.
  9. Responsible for development, updating and accuracy of BOMs.
  10. Delegate and manage the workflow of outside consultants.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
  • 8 plus years of engineering management and leading people; 10 years' experience in an engineering role in manufacturing or construction
  • 5 years' experience in precast concrete design, including direct and indirect design of reinforced concrete pipe, design and layout of reinforced concrete box, and various precast drainage structures.
  • Experience in precast industry
  • PE license preferred with the ability to obtain registration in TN, WV, FL, TX and ID within 12 months, and acquire additional registrations as the business expands

  • Proficiency with CAD programs such as SolidWorks, EPDM, and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated experience in SAP or similar
  • Excellent business management, developmental and financial management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the company, and speaking effectively before groups of customers, leadership and professional partners.
  • Excellent project management, goal setting, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong technical, mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Thorough understanding of multiple business areas, including safety, quality control, operations, supply chain, and sales.
