Nature of Work:

The purpose of the Building Engineer-On Call position is to support the KSE Engineering Department with basic maintenance tasks at many of our campus and event venues.

Examples of work performed:

Assists with general engineering tasks and building maintenance work including carpentry, light electrical, light HVAC, and basic plumbing repairs. Assist with basic painting projects. Work events as assigned. Travel to all KSE properties including Ball Arena and campus buildings, Paramount Theater, and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Stand, walk, talk, hear, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms up to 2/3 of time. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of time. Lift up to 25 lbs. up to 2/3 of time; up to 50 lbs. up to 1/3 of time. Moderate to very loud noise. Clear vision at 20”, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and identify and distinguish colors. Work near moving mechanical parts up to 2/3 of time. Work in high, precarious places, in outdoor weather conditions, and with risk of electrical shock, up to 1/4 of time.

Qualifications

Minimum High school diploma or GED 2+ years’ experience in a sports and entertainment field. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred 2 years’ experience with AV systems in an arena setting.

Compensation

Base hourly range $23.75-$25.00 per hour
