The Local Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing strategic marketing plans developed to support stores needing individualized marketing support. This includes, but is not limited to, working cross functionally across all levels of Marketing, Merchandising, Operations to execute requests for support, developing and finalizing marketing plans, securing approvals and communicating details and results to key stakeholders. The Local Marketing Specialist will work closely with internal and external agency partners and all levels of leadership. Ability to lead through influence and impact is critical.

Position follows hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in Downer's Grove IL office, Thursday-Friday remote.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations teams to execute strategic store support marketing plans for key initiatives and select store promotions.
  • Support key store event promotions and open house events by developing plans, driving execution and reporting results.
  • Support unique store clusters and initiatives by developing plans, driving execution and reporting results.
  • Execute marketing support for charitable organizations such Feeding America, Raise Right, and other local organizations.
  • Collaborate with Local Program Manager to support marketing tactics highlighting Local Initiatives such as ad promos and social media features.
  • Manage regional and enterprise-wide sponsorship opportunities and collaborate with stores teams to support store level sponsorships.
  • Partner with Local Program Manager to drive local product activation
  • Partner with Vendor Partner Marketing to drive in-store demos
  • Successfully supports multiple projects at any given time.
  • Maintains proper documentation and files for reference and resource.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years marketing experience or equivalent retail experience demonstrating knowledge of marketing and customer engagement strategy
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to be an empathetic listener and effective communicator.
  • Able to work cross-functionally across business areas, with all levels of Fresh Thyme team members, project leads, leadership and vendor partners.
  • Professionally represents the Fresh Thyme Marketing departments internally and externally.
  • Possesses strong planning and tracking/controlling skills.
  • Ability to think critically, plan long-term and react short-term.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Possesses exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage details. Ability to lead peers, including through ambiguous situations. Possesses strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Possesses excellent written, verbal and oral communication skills. Ability to work with Microsoft Office Tools.
