**Job Purpose:** Cleans and provides upkeep for spaces and buildings, performs basic repairs, maintains cleaning supplies, and operates cleaning equipment. To maintain the facility in a way that keeps it welcoming to all who enter.

**Essential Qualifications**:

* High School diploma or GED required

* Previous experience in custodial work preferred

* An understanding of and willingness to abide by The Salvation Armys mission, philosophy and practices, as well as represent The Salvation Army throughout the community

* Ability to understand and comply with The Salvation Army policies and procedures

* Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations

* Strict adherence to client confidentiality policies

* Ability to work efficiently and manage time well

* Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check

* Self-starter, and ability to work well with team

**Scope of Position:**

This person will be responsible for all tasks related to the cleaning and general upkeep of The Salvation Army properties. This includes areas such as: chapel, social services office, other offices, hallways, dining room, kitchen, meeting rooms, and bathrooms.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Clean and maintain floors including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and waxing

* Clean and maintain surfaces including dusting, disinfecting, and wiping down surfaces

* Maintain trash and recycling including emptying receptacles and breaking down boxes

* Clean and maintain bathrooms

* All other duties as assigned

**Physical Requirements:**

* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a continuous basis

* Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

* Ability to lift 35 lbs. repetitively

* Ability to operate a motor vehicle
