SUMMARY: The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for completing quotes requested by Sales in a timely manner and various aspects of finance and cost accounting. These include quotes, daily job variance review, monthly plant financial closure, accounting responsibilities, assist in forecasting and budgeting and other duties as assigned. Commitment to and support of the Company Core Values are key to success in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving quotes from sales and completing the quote in 24 hours
• Reviewing plant jobs daily for variances and correcting before posting
• Support of the monthly financial statement close process and analysis
• Support monthly forecast, annual budgeting process and 5-year projections
• Support and complete business analytics
• Maintain ERP standard costing system
• Support finance projects
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

•Experience in developing pricing or quotes is desirable
•Experience with cost accounting and month end close
•Experience in a manufacturing environment
•Knowledge of ERP systems
•High level of curiosity
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential
•Strong problem-solving abilities
•Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
•High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: B.A./B.S. degree in accounting or business administration or a combination of training and at least 5 years of direct relevant experience. A plus to either have or willingness to work toward achieving a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation.
