Description

Position Summary

Responsible for planning and placing purchase orders according to forecast and actual demand within the ERP system

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Utilize the ERP system to release purchase orders to pre-selected, approved suppliers, ensuring delivery as needed
  • Manage inbound container and truckload shipments, maximizing shipments to ensure the most cost-effective method of transportation
  • Update/Maintain the system, ensuring current supplier information on lead-time, pricing, and contacts
  • Work with Demand Planning and Sales to monitor customer forecasts and recommend changes
  • Develop proactive working relationships with outside suppliers and consultants as well as intergroup companies within the ASSA ABLOY organization
  • Assist and participate in continuous improvement activities. This may include collaboration with both internal and external resources
  • Work with Engineering on set-up of new products
  • Work with Quality and Engineering on supplier quality issues
Qualifications
  • Min. 3 years' experience in procurement, including global procurement, freight, logistics and customs
  • Understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, contracts and forecasting
  • High level of business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • MRP/ERP system experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Limited travel within North America
