ABOUT THE ROLE . . .

Responsible for the efficient purchasing & inventory of the Tempe Facility's Maintenance Dept. supplies, equipment and contract services. Promote the most effective use of company funds in all aspects of purchasing.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Keep constantly appraised of economic and/or business situations as they affect the Maintenance dept. purchasing procedures and make decisions to adequately meet those changing conditions.
2. Maintain parts by running requisition reports, setting up new parts in the applicable system, verify that parts requisitions are up to date, identify the shelf life of parts, verify parts discrepancies and build parts lists into equipment.
3. Develop, investigate and evaluate current and future sources & costs of supplies. Request quotes for those items not covered by any existing purchase agreements including obsolete parts and continuously work towards streamlining the PO process.
4. Work with Engineering to develop substitutes for essential maintenance supplies if their availability may negatively affect our operations or if a more economical product might be more feasible.
5. Evaluate vendor performance based on personal knowledge of prices and overall service..
6. Ensure that all applicable parts manuals are current and that all new equipment books are in the electronic system.
7. Maintain good relations with supplier personnel by means of courteous and respectful behavior.
8. Maintain an economically justified level of maintenance supplies inventory to assure efficient and continuous operation in Maintenance.
9. Maintain constant communication with maintenance staff and supervisors to assess their Maintenance supply requirements.
10. Assist in preparing and process work orders and monitor the status of all parts applicable to the work order.
11. Maintain and adhere to ISO standards, including but not limited to the Quality Policy Statement as well as the Quality Control Procedures Manual.

Position Qualifications

1. Experience in manufacturing/Industrial setting desirable with experience in dealing with product inventory and budgets.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing/Industrial environment with direct exposure to maintenance related vendors and SAP purchasing system.
3. Must have an aptitude for mechanical & electrical equipment.
4. Good oral/written communication/presentation skills.
