This role will be responsible for supporting the office, the Human Capital & Talent department, and the firm by using their experience and understanding of the legislative, judicial, and competitive market landscape, while developing and implementing the Human Capital & Talent strategy for the relevant office, as well as working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities & Qualifications: Other key responsibilities include: Providing Human Resources (“HR”) advice and guidance to stakeholders on a range of complex HR matters including employee relations and performance management. Providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on firm policies, procedures, and best practices; ensuring compliance with firm policies, procedures, and laws and regulations as required. Ensuring successful implementation of strategic Human Capital & Talent initiatives. Overseeing the implementation of Human Capital & Talent operational projects, providing advice and guidance where necessary to ensure projects are delivered successfully and by required deadlines. Working closely with Staff Development & Training to identify training opportunities for the office; helping design and conduct training and development programs, and supporting the development, implementation, and assessment of on-going training programs. Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains. We’d love to hear from you if you: Demonstrate the ability to understand and apply federal, state, and local employment laws or court precedents including but not limited to: OSHA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, ADEA, and FMLA. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of traditional human resources functions. Display excellent leadership skills and the demonstrated ability to lead a team (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management. And have: A Bachelor's degree, with focus in human resources or related field, preferably. A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible human resources experience. A minimum of four (4) years of experience implementing and administering human resources policies and procedures.
