Position Title Director of Annual Giving

Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of University Advancement and Alumni Engagement, the Director of Annual and Affinity Giving is the senior staff member for the Annual and Affinity Giving team. The Director is the strategist responsible for planning, leading, and executing TU's annual giving efforts, focusing on unit growth in terms of both donor participation and dollars raised. This position plays a key role in the TU strategic plan and fundraising campaigns. Facilitates engagement with alumni and donors that fosters an environment of equity, inclusion and belonging that values diverse life experiences, ideas, and perspectives.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Plans, implements, and evaluates the University's annual giving strategy in conjunction with University and UAAE goals. Designs and manages an integrated multi-channel marketing strategy of outbound programs (direct mail, student phone outreach, email, social media) and inbound programs (websites, giving forms) that engage donors through one-to-many marketing channels. Leads the Annual Giving team, establishing collective strategy, delegating responsibilities, and working with staff on annual goals through regular meetings and conversations. Interacts extensively and serves as a key resource to the University Advancement and Alumni Engagement leadership, and officers of the University, offering counsel on matters related to annual giving as it relates to the University strategic plan and any fundraising campaigns. Identifies prospects for various units, increasing the number of new annual donors, re-engaging lapsed annual donors, and upgrading current donors to ensure upward movement of prospects Enhances the use of digital marketing and analytics to improve segmentation and messaging and to create a personal and positive experience for donors. Serves as liaison to other UAAE leaders, including serving as a consultant (as needed) in the areas of Alumni Engagement, Development, Special Events & Operations, and Advancement Services Works with campus partners (e.g., Athletics, Alumni Association, academic units) to ensure personal and consistent messaging and positive donor experiences. Performs other duties as assigned which advance The University of Tulsa. Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least three years of experience in higher education fundraising or a similar role. Proficiency in using donor CRM systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, paired with a strong attention to detail. Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks effectively, and follow through on projects. Experience in consensus building among diverse groups with competing interests. Strong interpersonal skills, with a self-motivated work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. Ability to represent the university professionally, embodying pride and loyalty. Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's degree Previous successful experience in higher education fundraising; proficiency in using Raiser's Edge NXT software system Experience in marketing and communications and event planning and management Coordination of volunteers for the purposes of friend raising and fund raising Familiarity with the university history and community. Physical Demands

Work requires working with highly sensitive or confidential information. Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including some evenings and weekends, and demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating with various administrative levels. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to navigate an office setting. Must be able to lift at least 15lbs routinely.
