The Radiology Patient Coordinator under the direction of the modality supervisor, assists in the department patient workflow while working under the guidance of a technologist. The Coordinator should be team orientated and comfortable with multi-tasking while maintaining quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists technologists in all areas of Radiology with patient care needs such as patient transfers, patient changing, transporting etc. Assists in communication requests from providers by answering and transferring phone calls as needed. Assist in Room turn-over. Schedule same day add-on, ED, and inpatient requests into the schedule worklist. Proficient use of the EMR for history, lab and allergy look-up and documentation. Patient ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher transport as needed. Act as a liaison between front desk in Radiology, ED, and in-patient areas to coordinate timely care of patients. Reviewing exam orders to ensure all required documentation is included. Consistently demonstrates effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental and hospital staff. Takes initiative to follow up on matters as required. Performs all other duties as assigned or required to ensure efficient operation of the department and quality patient care.
