Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Team Lead supports the Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Warehouse managers and supervisors with the engagement of basic operations for the manufacturing plant. This position learns about the key aspects of the business and engages in management skills training.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Under the direction of department managers and supervisors, leads activities in partnership with manufacturing, maintenance, quality and warehouse teams, i.e., team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, visual controls, status-at-a-glance boards, etc.
  • Lead daily, weekly and/or monthly review processes to track and reinforce progress versus action plans with the team
  • Learn to lead highly effective teams through team building, clear communication and ongoing coaching
  • Partner with maintenance resources and follows the escalation process when needed
  • Perform machine efficiency checks to provide input on downtime issues and discuss solutions
  • Partner with department managers and supervisors on performance management, coaching and discipline
  • Learn how to use Lean tools to drive process improvement strategies in a manufacturing environment
  • Assist with process improvements for Making, Packing and Shipping, i.e., remove waste from the system, etc. improve efficiencies
  • Partner with department on daily walk-throughs of the manufacturing plant and warehouse
  • Conduct GEMBA and manufacturing safety audits with department managers and supervisors
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of reports and records, i.e., end of shift report, employees monthly and daily efficiency, production confirmations, observations, etc.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 4 plus years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong team building skills
  • Ability to coach and lead others
  • Results-oriented mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (early morning, overnight and weekend shifts)
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Electrical Certification
  • Vocational Certification
