Our project teams include specialists in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of tele-data communications, audio/video, process control, building management and fire/safety installations.SUMMARYThe fleet maintenance assistant holds an important role for Dynalectric San Diego.Under the supervision of the fleet manager, the position will be responsible for performing fleet inspections, basic maintenance operations, and preventative diagnoses and repairs.Other responsibilities include shuttling vehicles and light vehicle detailing, and outfitting vehicles.The individual will collaborate with other warehouse personnel, company management, and outside vendors to ensure each aspect of the job is performed efficiently and thoroughly.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following.Perform basic routine inspections, i.e., brake inspections, tire inspections, fluid level checks, electrical testing, engine diagnostic scanningPerforms basic maintenance operations, i.e., oil changes, 100k mile service, brake repairs, electrical repairs, battery replacements, tune-ups, and transmission servicesAbility to diagnose and repair small gasoline and diesel engines, i.e., generators, compressors, and forkliftsShuttle vehicles to and from outside repair shopsShuttle vehicles to and from their assigned drivers when requiredBuilding and upfitting of new fleet vehicles, including tool boxes, inverters, and alarm systemsAccurate installation and removal of vehicle logos and decalsLight detailing of fleet vehiclesTrack and report parts used, maintain required inventory of stocked partsInspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck conditionAssist workers in unloading and loading truck when requiredMaintains inventory recordsMust be able to work a 40 hour work week, with occasional overtimeFollows all traffic laws, is courteous to other drivers, and understands the importance of representing the company and providing a positive image of the company.Regular attendance is required.Performs other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
