CNC Machinist I - 1st Shift Agawam, MA Cadrex is searching for a CNC Machinist I who will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role involves setting up machines, loading materials, monitoring machine processes, and performing basic maintenance tasks. Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include setting up CNC machines by loading the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials; interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate machining; operating CNC machines to produce components, monitoring machine performance and adjusting as necessary; conducting routine quality inspections using precision measurement instruments to verify part dimensions; making tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments as directed by senior CNC operators or programmers; performing basic machine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes; identifying and reporting any machine malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor; following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area; assisting in the documentation of production records, including part counts and machine logs; collaborating with senior CNC operators and machinists to enhance machining skills and knowledge; and operating CNC machines to produce production parts and assemblies. Preferred qualifications include producing a high-quality product according to required specifications on a consistent basis; producing the required quantity of product according to required output specifications; understanding the machine operation process and the movement of completed components; using computers as required; using measuring tools as required; reading and understanding blueprints; completing necessary paperwork accurately and timely; operating all hand tools, machines, and equipment successfully as required and with minimal supervision; working as a productive team member who contributes to the organization's success; handling fast-paced work; demonstrating the ability to take initiative to see tasks that are needed and complete them without being instructed to do so by supervisors or lead personnel; and demonstrating dependability with good attendance. Education includes a high school diploma and a 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred. Location is onsite. Schedule is M-F. Physical demands include standing, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, and talking or hearing; occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
