The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Buyer to work at our Dearborn, MI location. The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies and services for domestic and international locations. Works with cross-functional departments to implement continuous improvement processes and provide excellent customer service. Ensures products and services meet the safety, financial, quality and efficiency requirements of the business units. Minimum Salary: $60,000

Responsibilities

The Buyer will:
  • Partners with internal personnel to understand customer needs, intended product use, and refines specifications for product and service purchases
  • Assists with sourcing, qualifying, and evaluating suppliers
  • Manages approved supply base and creates contract and blanket purchase orders in Oracle
  • Facilitates the request for quotation (RFQ) process
  • Analyzes quotes and reviews contracts, making appropriate supplier selections
  • Negotiates standard and blanket contracts and payment terms and conditions
  • Assists with the resolution of invoicing discrepancies
  • Reviews performance indicators for cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensures supplier compliance with corporate and customer performance standards
  • Assists Purchasing Agent with more complex contract negotiations
  • Qualifies new suppliers, on-boards/transitions suppliers to iSupplier
  • Supports automation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Skills The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years buying experience
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Oracle or ERP system knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid Driver's License Required
