Job Title: Welder III
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm M-F

Description:
We are excited to announce that we are seeking an experienced welder to join our welding team. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong background in welding, specifically with expertise in MIG and Stick welding processes. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of welding experience and possess the ability to produce clean welds that meet both structural and cosmetic standards without the need for grinding or cleanup.

Welder Duties:

  • Set-up and operate welding equipment to weld parts that meet both structural and cosmetic standards.
  • Read and interpret welding drawings, production order sheets and other instruction documents.
  • As necessary, utilize measurement tools to manually layout parts to be welded.
  • Utilize fixtures and other part holding devices to accurately position parts for repetitive welding operations.
  • Welding using MIG processes (95% of our welding)
  • Stick welding as required (5% of our welding)
  • Capable of training and mentoring less experienced welders
  • Use of cutting torch rig
  • Responsible for daily production goals
  • The fitting experience required would be a welder with any type of Structural Fitting experience.

    Structural Fitting Examples:
    -Trailers
    -Frames
    -Oil Field / Derreck work
    -Boiler Maker
    -Shipyard / Barge building
    -Building Frames (Highrise buildings / Metal building structures)

    Fitters need to be able to do the following:
    -Read blueprints / drawings and apply information to physical parts
    -Read dimensions (Note: most welders read dimensions in fractions. Our drawings are in decimal form but we have a conversion sheet that can be used to convert from decimal to fraction)
    -Knowledge on using correct tools to align and maintain parts being square
    -Framing Square
    -Combination square
    -Tape measure
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of welding experience, with expertise in MIG and Stick.
  • Able to consistently produce clean welds, that pass structural and cosmetic standards, requiring no grinding.
  • Must know how to set machines for material type and thickness being welded.
  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Must have strong proficiency at reading drawings (blueprints).
  • Capable of lifting at least 75 lbs., and able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Submit to and pass a drug screening
  • Submit to and pass a background check.
