A key Optimus energy trading client needs a Senior Financial Accountant to help lead their financial accounting and reporting responsibilities. The Sr Financial Accountant will be own a variety of aspects of the financial accounting and reporting process and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the company. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration CPA (or working towards) and/or MBA highly preferred. 5+years financial GAAP accounting and reporting within one of the following industries: Commodities trading, Midstream, PetroChem, or Manufacturing Proven experience with ME Close, YE Close – including reviewing and analyzing financial data, statements, and reports, ensuring GAAP compliance Proven experience preparing monthly close tasks including, bank reconciliations, reviews and approving journal entries, account reconciliations/supporting schedules, etc. Preparing accounting entries for expense allocations, travel expenses, payroll expenses, etc. Experience in top ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4 HANA Ability to understand/dissect complex agreements to ensure their proper financial reflection in a company’s accounts and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Supporting audits Experience with AFE’s, contracts, PO’s, work orders and work requests Ability to drive and influence the accounting & finance functional strategies (strong initiative, willingness to challenge the status quo, excellent communication skills, etc.) Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools. Per our client's specifications, candidates are required to be US Citizens, Green Card holders, or independently authorized to work in the US . We are unable to provide H1 visa sponsorship at this time.
