Our intelligent, hardworking team of people do the impossible every single day, yet remain incredibly kind, humble, and always ready to support one another.We are looking for a Welding Engineer who will work side-by-side with a team of welding engineers to develop an autonomous robotic welding system capable of automatically generating custom motion plans and weld parameters for any part that it sees. You will also support teams with welding experiments, generating the data that propels our technology forward. You will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing.What You'll Do Run weld parameter selection experiments to identify a range of welding parameters (voltage, wire speed, travel speed) that can be used for new customer applicationsPartner with robotics engineers to develop a set of rules for how to move the workpiece and robot end-effector to automate trajectory generationPerform robotic welding experiments to test other systems in development including sensors and inspection systems, path planning and welding strategies, and new hardwareWork with our hardware team to fabricate test coupons for application feasibility testing and other in-house experimentsMinimum of 25% travel required, in which you will be interfacing and working directly with customers.Program and operate 6-axis robot armsManually weld coupons and other test parts when neededUse powered shop tools to cut and etch weld samplesWho You AreYou have 5+ experience developing procedures for robotic arc welding applicationsYou are proficient in programming industrial robotics including Yaskawa, ABB, Kuka, and Fanuc platformsYou have a background in fusion-based weld parameter development for several metal alloysYou have experience with metal additive manufacturingYou understand dynamic robotic welding technologies including adaptive fill, touch sensing, and seam trackingYou are proficient with manual welding processes including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SMAWYou understand weld symbology and print interpretationYou have experience with Design of Experiment (DoE) principlesYou have experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)You are excited by the opportunity to be a part of a venture-backed startup early on, where your work will have an immediate and direct impactYou are passionate about what you do and enjoy working in a collaborative environmentYou like the idea of working at a tech company with all the perks that go with that- free lunch, unlimited time off, team events, and great benefitsWho We AreAt Path Robotics we love coming to work to solve interesting and tough challenges but also because our ideas are welcomed and valued.
