Job Summary:

The HEP Integrity Team is looking to add an experienced corrosion professional in the administration of the corrosion prevention, control, and mitigation program for all HEP pipelines, terminals, and other facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise corrosion control staff including field functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving corrosion control programs, systems, metrics and staff for all HEP pipelines, terminals, and plant facilities.
  • Maintain and provide internal and external corrosion control expertise and consulting for pipeline, terminal and plant facilities.
  • Oversee internal corrosion chemical treatment program across all HEP pipeline assets.
  • Oversee and develop a comprehensive maintenance pigging program for HEP pipeline assets.
  • Develop, lead, implement and continuously improve the corrosion control program including program documentation, procedures, metrics, technical & field expertise and reporting metrics.
  • Guide the implementation and use of corrosion databases PCS Axis and Mesa 3 data collection tools.
  • Manage design and/or consult on construction, startup and monitoring of cathodic protection and inhibition systems.
  • Work with staff and operations personnel to maintain coating and painting program.
  • Produce, send and award bid packages to include specifications and drawings.
  • Proved technical support and guidance to other departments on corrosion control activities including providing project and operating budget development assistance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain manuals, procedures, specifications and other documents related to corrosion control; includes developing and implementing recurring program and document reviews and improvements.
  • Support regulatory audits and activities to maintain compliance.
  • Manage review, filing and maintenance of all records for corrosion control.
  • Work with other groups and departments on various activities to mitigate corrosion issues to reduce risk of incidents and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Supports the Integrity department for running in-line inspection tools, completing O&M digs, and overseeing anomaly repairs.
  • Participates in failure analysis and root cause of corrosion investigations.
  • Assist with Operator Qualification and other training.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of subsurface pipeline and storage tank coating systems.
  • Knowledge of natural gas, refined products, HVL, crude oil and other petroleum products pipelines and bulk storage tanks.
  • Working knowledge of internal and external corrosion damage mechanisms associated with facility piping, pipelines, and tanks.
  • Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently proof work for accuracy.
  • Ability to use awareness of relationships and impacts of data trends and elements to appropriately recommend actions that impact both near and long-term company operations and profits.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Certification:

NACE certified CP Level 2 or above.
