The Publix Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) team is seeking a systems engineer who is excited to learn new and existing middleware technologies. The EAI team creates and maintains the system infrastructure that allows Publix business systems to communicate via middleware technology such as message queueing, event streaming, file transfer, EDI/AS2, and other data transfer technologies. Examples of the tools implemented and supported by the Publix EAI team are IBM MQ, Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform Kafka, Microsoft Biztalk, Axway Synchrony Transfer (CFT), and Axway B2Bi.

Responsibilities:
  • Support of multiple Apache Kafka clusters and related technologies, Axway CFT, Axway B2Bi, MSMQ, and IBM MQ. This includes managing incidents and help requests from our users. Most of these tools run on both Windows and Linux so knowledge of both operating systems is a plus.
  • Project and daily maintenance participation, delivering solutions of high quality and reliability.
  • Software installation, configuration, integration, documentation, and support
  • System management, monitoring, and tuning activities
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for assigned technologies as part of a team rotation.
  • Problem determination resolution and documentation
  • Systems security and vulnerability remediation
  • Project team participation

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, Computer Science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem determination skills
  • A willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to be in the on-call rotation of a 24/7 support team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge of, and experience supporting, Microsoft Windows Server operating systems or RHEL and its ecosystem of enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Network Shares and file security, SSL, etc.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, MSMQ, or Kafka
  • Experience with code deployment technologies such as Ansible, Ansible Tower, Chocolatey, or SCCM
  • Experience with Event Streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and related software such as Prometheus, AlertManager, and Grafana
  • Experience with scripting languages such as YAML, PowerShell and KShell
  • Experience with automating application installation and configuration steps
  • Experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident ticketing, and Disaster Recovery preparedness.
