For more information visit: OE Responsibilities This position is located in the Office of Enforcement - Division of Audits and Accounting. The Office of Enforcement serves the public interest by ensuring effective regulations and protecting customers through understanding markets and their regulation, timely identifying and remedying market problems, assuring compliance with Commission rules and regulations, and detecting and crafting remedies to address market manipulation and other non-compliance issues. As a Supervisory Auditor some of your typical work assignments may include: Attending public conferences or other gatherings where you will present or explain Commission rules, regulations, and policy to industry and/or the public. Providing authoritative guidance on assignments, which may involve highly complex or precedent setting issues. Supervising audit, technical, or other staff in performing a variety of audit, accounting, and other assignments primarily related to tariff, rate, economic, energy markets, accounting, auditing, and other Commission operations and activities. Directing, planning, organizing, and managing the work of the Division of Audits and Accounting for the effective and efficient use of resources consistent with the Commission policies and directives. Reviewing work products involving tariff, rate, market, economic, and other matters by staff or a designated team, preparing audit reports, memos, and orders to the Commission and ensuring that the final product is of high quality, well documented, and addresses all issues appropriately. Conducting assignments involving highly complex and pioneering tariff, rate, energy market, economic, accounting, auditing, and other issues, which have a major impact on electric utility, natural gas, and oil pipeline industries. Directing and managing audits and other assignments requiring technical, policy, and legal analysis of tariff and rate matters. Qualifications To view the eligibility and qualification requirements of a Supervisory Auditor, GS-0511, please visit: Auditor In addition to the education required for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience applying the Commission’s accounting regulations, accounting releases, major rulings, and ratemaking policies on concurrent audit or other managerial/leadership assignments dealing with extremely complex and pioneering tariff, rate, energy market, accounting, and auditing matters. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
