Job Description:

Operate CNC Lathe production machine working from blueprints, sketches, and route sheets. Contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Work with general guidance in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

* Set up and run production machines.

* Perform machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts, where the materials, tooling, and sequence of operations have been pre?planned and established.

* Make necessary machine adjustments and report improper functioning or cutting action for correction.

* Perform operations such as tapping, spot?facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.

* Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods.

* Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation.

* Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities from machined parts.

* Burring operations involve general production parts ranging from the simplest to the more complex.

* Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, gages, and comparators. * Use various types of magnification equipment to detect and avoid damage to surfaces and critical areas.

* Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machined surfaces.

* Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.

* Perform all statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.

* Actively participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.

* Apply lean concepts and tools in work area.

* Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.

* Interpret reports and use job specific software applications.

* May be required to operate moving equipment and saw equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications.

* Perform other related responsibilities, as requested.

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma / GED

* 2 years related machining experience.

* 1 year product support or related experience or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.

* May require forklift operator certificate.

Skills and Knowledge:

* Able to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.

* Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.

* Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

* Team player

* Able to use employee self?service systems to access on?line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e., PMR, TORS, e?mail).

* Participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self?development activities.

* General knowledge of computer terminal operations.

* Must demonstrate manual dexterity.

* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

* Ability to read and understand related forms and specifications.

* Able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Descripcin del trabajo:

Opere la mquina de produccin de tornos CNC trabajando a partir de planos, bocetos y hojas de ruta. Contribuir a iniciativas lean para aumentar la productividad y reducir costos. Trabajar con orientacin general en un ambiente de equipo.

Responsabilidades:

* Configurar y operar mquinas de produccin.

* Realiza operaciones de mquina (incluyendo piezas de reelaboracin) como cortar, dar forma, desbarbar, formar, perforar y escariar piezas, donde los materiales, herramientas y secuencia de operaciones han sido planificados y establecidos previamente.

* Realiza los ajustes necesarios de la mquina e informa el funcionamiento inadecuado o la accin de corte para su correccin.

* Realiza operaciones como roscado, refrentado, biselado, avellanado y avellanado para cerrar tolerancias.

* Alinea y sujeta piezas usando accesorios estndar y mtodos establecidos.

* Ajustar avances, velocidades y profundidad de corte para mecanizar piezas de calidad, segn la documentacin.
