This position is for a Project Estimator with industry experience in civil or marine engineering, or heavy construction. The role is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects from $50 to $100 million to ensure the client is a responsive bidder. This is a full-time position managing the estimating process, and working with the Chief Estimator. Work is based out of the Plantsville office in Connecticut.Role Responsibilities:Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors to ensure a high-quality and timely estimateReview drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in the final project estimate.Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase the competitiveness of the bidReview take-off quantities to ensure the accuracy of data used in estimatesUtilize existing cost history as a check to complete the estimateApply mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes to ensure logically estimated costs are accuratePresent estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completenessCommunicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitivenessCommunicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure an understanding of the scope of the job and critical means and methods of constructionDevelop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.Participate in and/or lead Design-build preconstruction services to ensure high-quality, competitive estimates and schedulesQualifications:Degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related work experience.8+ years Estimating experience with industry experienceProficiency in MS Office; AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software; Estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid or similarAdvanced knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements; Comprehensive understanding of civil construction industry practices and standards.Must have:Must be a US Citizen.The client wants an estimator who has worked in the industry, NOT an Engineer who has done estimating for the projects they worked on unless the Engineer held the title of an Estimator in their previous employment#J-18808-Ljbffr
