What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for IT Technical Specialist, On-Site Customer Supportto join our Information Technology team in El Paso, TexasThe ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.
The Technical Specialist position performs daily activities needed to manage IT services and support infrastructure (e.g., facilities management) to ensure the overall success of operations. Addresses incidents and requests from users while coordinating with the service desk to identify and mitigate issues pertaining to the IT infrastructure and systems. Focuses on the day-to-day activities to maintain stability within service operations.
What you will be doing:
- Addresses incidents opened and assigned by the Service Desk and/or end users until they are complete
- Oversees operational support to ensure that problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner
- Helps users to access information and resources pertaining to their function and to utilize building technology efficiently
- Escalates to supervisors and tiered support regarding user and stakeholders needs when unable to resolve issues alone
- Basic training to end users on equipment support and software tools.
- Support minor technical installations (racking equipment, network cabling, etc)
- Review and control the inventory of hardware and software at responsible sites to provide information for use and budgeting
- Provide preventive maintenance to IT equipment at responsible sites
- Maintain 5S on all the responsible areas (Host Room, Storage Room, etc)
- Associates degree with a concentration in Information Systems. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Six (6) months experience supporting end users and end points
- Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of endpoint troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair (computers, printers, etc).
- Familiarity with label printers and handheld scanners
- Familiarity with Service Now or any other ITSM tool/ticketing system for incident management
- Familiarity with enterprise level tools such as Active Directory, and/or SCCM, MECM or MEM.
- Thorough knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
- Up to 50% travel within US and Canada
