POSITION SUMMARY

Drive the production of timely and accurate financial reporting for external and internal customers. Manage the coordination of activities performed by staff with responsibility for the completion of monthly and annual financial closings, reporting, and statistical information to meet standards for accuracy, timeliness and compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain up-to-date expertise in and ensure compliance with GAAP, FCC CFR Part 32/Part 64 requirements, Sarbanes Oxley, and other financial and regulatory requirements. Perform or assist in the company's financial statement consolidation process and financial statement preparation. Respond to internal and external audit requests and support the timely completion of all audits.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Manage personnel and other resources to meet Company objectives (includes performance management and career mentoring, delegation and review of department work product, and cross utilization of other work groups.)
  • Work on issues of substantial complexity, diverse scope and impact where analysis of situations or data requires evaluations of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business/industry trends.
  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Recommend changes to policies and established procedures and best practices that impact the immediate organization and result in efficiencies.
  • Gather information from multiple internal and external sources, construct and maintain financial models, complete analyses, write reports, and prepare presentations.
  • Work primarily on medium to large-scale projects with the most substantial complexity, breadth of scope, and impact to the Company to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Perform or assist in the company's financial statement consolidation process, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis. Respond to internal and external audit requests and support the timely completion of all audits. Perform appropriate internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Frequently interact with finance management, customers, and functional peer group managers to provide accounting support and guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP, SOX 404, regulatory requirements, and multiple billing and financial reporting systems. Perform technical research, implement new accounting pronouncements, and assist in the implementation of new financial systems.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of professional level accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility resulting in demonstrable mastery of accounting principles concepts and applications. Supervisory and/or staff management experience required.

Equivalent education and training may be substituted for experience.

Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in MS office products with expertise in the use of Excel advanced functionality. Workday ERP system experience is preferred.

Other Requirements: CPA license and experience in the communications industry is preferred.
