Novant Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in delivering exceptional care The pharmacy technician will help support both the Forsyth Medical Center lobby pharmacy and Novant Health Specialty Pharmacy at Westgate (onsite). Shifts will vary within operating hours of M-F 8-6, Sat 9-3, Sun 10-3. Hours are not guaranteed but would prefer availability of 24-32 hours per week. Why Work at Novant Health? Your Role Accurately prepare and dispense medications. Assist pharmacists with daily operations. Maintain medication inventory and records. Provide friendly, knowledgeable support to patients and staff. What You Bring Certification or relevant experience. Strong attention to detail and organization. Excellent communication skills. Commitment to patient safety and service. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Acute: One year experience. Minimum of two pharmacy skills required. Outpatient Oncology: Minimum of two years of experience in any setting with one year of experience in sterile compounding, required. Specialty Pharmacy: Minimum of two years in any setting required with one year in specialty setting preferred, required. Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of pharmacy, required. PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire, or proof of enrollment in pharmacy school/FPEGG/FPGEC; required. A minimum of one relevant specialized certificate/certification from approved vendor such as PTCB, BPTS or NPTA (examples include but are not limited to product verification, medication history, hazardous drug management, billing/reimbursement, controlled substances diversion prevention, medication therapy management, sterile compounding). This must be obtained within 12 months of hire and maintained as applicable required. Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team. Additional skills preferred: Considerable knowledge of medication names (both trade and generic) and their doses, routes of administration, and adverse effects; the ability to demonstrate patient interview skills and strong written and verbal communication skills with other healthcare professionals.
