We are looking for an Associate Category Manager who is searching to do what they'll love - Category Management Do you have experience in buying and sourcing? Do you love food? The qualified Associate Category Manager has at least 2 years of Category Management/Buying experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA. The Associate Category Manager is responsible for: * Delivering Value (Quality and Price) to stores and supports Buyers to achieve fulfillment goals such as fill-rate, TOS and inventory quality goals. * Collaborating with Category Manager and Senior Category Manager to achieve sales, margin, SKU count and sales dollar/unit minimum targets as well as provide support in daily tasks and projects as needed. * Maintaining strong vendor relationships and actively seeks out new partnerships to expand product offerings and partners with Product Developers to diversify their vendor base. * Staying current on industry trends, competitions and innovations to bring new ideas and strategies to the team. * Working collaboratively with other departments such as Marketing, Operations and Finance. The Associate Category Manager has: * 1-3 years of category management, inventory management or buying experience preferably in the grocery and food industry. * Experience in buying and sourcing new food products. * Strong negotiation skills. * Experience with perishables is preferred * Excellent communication skills and demonstrates excellent time management skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required as well as comfort with retail-based mathematics.
