Job Description:

Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Software Developer to be part of our dynamic team

As an Intermediate Developer, you'll be tasked with producing quality software products and documentation according to functional and basic non-functional specifications and the team's software development practices.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll be:

  • Analysing requirements and providing input on how to design our software components.
  • In charge of developing, releasing, and maintaining various software components that fit the design we've agreed on.
  • Creating and tweaking automated functional and basic non-functional tests, tools, and artefacts.
  • The go-to person for creating and keeping our documentation up to date.
  • Tasked to come up with innovative solutions for engineering productivity challenges.
  • Checking out our process performance measures and suggesting ways we can do better.
  • Part of the team reviewing code within your own team.
  • Our quality control, making sure our software is top-notch across all our integrated products.
  • Ensuring the quality of our multiple, integrated software components.
  • Laying the groundwork for our software product's continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Making sure we've got enough functional and non-functional quality gates throughout the pipeline.
  • Estimating how much effort your work will take.
  • The problem solver, resolving issues related to our software products' functionality.
  • Keeping us in the loop about your work status and raising the alarm if there are risks that might mess with our on-time and quality delivery.

Key Requirements:

You'll have:

  • At least four years of backend / full stack software development experience.
  • Ideally a relevant 4-year degree.
  • A strong proficiency in developing applications with C# and Microsoft .NET architecture including object-oriented design.
  • Typescript, Javascript, PowerShell would be desirable As would experience in SQL and database development.
  • Proficiency in using Azure DevOps to manage CI/CD pipelines and artifacts would also be ideal.
  • Competent in planning and managing software quality throughout the SDLC to ensure security, reliability, efficiency and maintainability.
  • Experience in writing unit tests.
