Initial assignments will vary from four to nine weeks.Food Service Workers will be assigned to either on-site cooking locations or satellite meal locations; as needed.Job Description:The Food and Nutrition Services Department will be sponsoring the City of Boston's Summer Food Services Program. The goal of the program is to provide nutritious meals to children who are attending various community centers and public/private agency summer programs in the City of Boston. The program will primarily operate Monday through Friday. However, there may be a few Saturday sites. This position is required to work the duration of the Summer Program; as needed. Mandatory training will be provided.Terms:Stipend Opportunity, $17.00 per hour, 4 hours a day, Regular workday (may vary depending upon the site, and the number of people assigned).Reports to: Site Supervisor or Site ManagerResponsibilities: Individuals selected for these positions will be responsible for:Serving and accounting for meals given to childrenAssists with record keeping.Ensures the health and safety of students and personnel by instructions in adherence to The Massachusetts Sanitary Code.Maintaining a clean site.In addition, some individuals may be assigned to prepare and serve hot food in selected sites. All individuals hired are required to attend a mandatory training session and commit to working the length of their assignment.Qualifications Required:High School Diploma or EquivalentGood communication and interpersonal skillsDependabilityBasic math skillsMust have good attendance and good evaluationsPreferred:Prior food service experience.
