**About the Reception Diagnostic Center:**

The Reception Diagnostic Center (RDC) is a maximum-security intake facility for adult males sentenced to the Indiana Department of Correction. All adult males are received at RDC, classified, and transferred to long-term facilities. RDC was completed in two phases: the first phase consisted of 204 cells and was completed in 1971. Phase two was completed in 1993, which added 144 additional cells and administrative and operational space. RDC has a capacity/total of 695 offenders.

**Salary Information:**

This role starts at a base salary of $25,766.

****About the Job:****

As the Stores Clerk, you will perform a wide variety of tasks in the supervision and overall operation of stocking, disbursing, and controlling goods and supplies.

****A Day in the Life:****

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

* Authorize accuracy of all orders received in storeroom and authorize all goods received.

* Contact vendors regarding partial shipments and/or misorders.

* Maintain detailed inventory records and records of items ordered.

* Evaluate and recognize record keeping or storage procedures as necessary.

* Ensure proper storage procedures and rotation of stock for perishable items.

* Make recommendations on purchase of new equipment for warehouse and maintenance required in building.

* Oversee and assemble equipment received in knocked down condition.

* Ensure security of inmate staff assigned to warehouse.

****What You'll Need for Success:****

* Thorough knowledge of requisitioning and disbursing procedures, consumption rates of stored items and inventory control procedures.

* Thorough knowledge of stock items, their locations and the proper methods of storing a variety of goods and supplies based upon efficient space utilization and a variety of state and federal regulations.

* Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

* Practical knowledge of state regulations in handling and storing foodstuffs and perishables.

* Ability to train inmates and staff in proper operation of all equipment and proper methods of storage.

* Ability to maintain detailed, accurate inventory and purchasing records.

* Ability to operate forklift, hand-truck and other mechanical equipment in warehouse.

****Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:****
