Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Client Advisor / Tax Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on tax-related responsibilities, ensuring compliance and strategic planning for our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Preparation and Management: Prepare, submit, and manage tax statements and returns for businesses and clients, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
  • Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Team Management: Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and other tax documents.
  • Tax Calendar Coordination: Plan for and develop the overall return calendar, coordinating timing and inputs with the tax team.
  • Control Procedures: Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
  • Support and Projects: Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects.
  • Review and Projections: Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
  • Mentorship: Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.


Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of tax regulations, laws, and acts.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to serve as a business advisor to clients, aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system, Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills; ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include oral and written communication
  • Intermediate (practical application) Knowledge of integrated online accounting applications
  • Intermediate (practical application) Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • 5 years Minimum related work experience
