About the Job
We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated construction superintendent to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of a Superintendent is to manage the daily construction activities of the project. The Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of materials and supplies, subcontractor services, and meeting the deadlines of schedules. In addition, the Superintendent is responsible and held accountable to ensure that safety, quality, cost, schedule and customer satisfaction are seamlessly delivered. Depending on the location of the site, be willing to travel for the duration of the project (Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin).
Jobsite Responsibilities:
Supervise construction efforts to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Studies specifications, drawings and contract to plan procedures for construction, ensuring start and finish times, safety, quality, and
staffing/subcontractor
requirements for each phase of construction.
Includes but is not limited to interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives and subcontractors.
Inspects work in progress and coordinates subcontractors to ensure that workmanship and materials conform to specifications, drawings and the adherence to construction schedules.
Manage and obtain subcontractor insurance, licensing and other required documentation needed before starting work.
Manage compliance with quality control standards.
Manage material delivery and inventory (equipment, material, and tools).
Prepare necessary daily logs and documentation and submit to project manager.
Conduct and attend safety/project meetings and toolbox talks with team and subcontractors, and project meetings with owners, architects and subcontractors.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs,
before/during/after
pictures and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Generate and manage punch lists and project closeout documentation.
Periodically, pick up material needed for job site.
Create site maps to show locations of stormwater BMPs, dumpsters, storage containers, etc.
Pick up permit and track all inspections to final completion.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Preferred:
Thorough knowledge of: all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills required.
Ability to resolve conflict and issues, and address project and performance concerns.
Duties require good judgment, initiative and ability to deal with last-minute changes or critical issues.
Strong focus on high quality client service.
Good time management and organizational abilities.
Critical thinker, problem-solver, detail oriented.
Willingness to travel a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products; and other computer applications helpful.
Education and Experience Preferred:
BS, engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
Minimum of 5 years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience.
OSHA 30 Hour minimum
